 UTOPIA/DISTOPIA "TWISTED" Take a particular image of Utopia, we'll call it say hmmmm no boundaries. The last 200 hundred years plus we've been dealing with distopia of a double magnet capitalistic government to rush and shift, mega-money into real-estate, retail, metropolis, affluent ones. To increase at the sacrifice of humanness, humanity. Gentrify, gentrify they aint trying to die by any means necessary. Be gone, you skidroadians, we (real-estate metropoliant ones )say, FORGET YOU, YOU ARE A CANCER TO THE QUALITY OF LIFE. We don't die, we gone try to multiply. We say TRY because you people and Skidroadians are fighting back, I hear yawl, we won't Gentrify!!!!! Well, my advice for the sake of Utopia... fight back, KEEP ON FIGHTING with FAITH in GOD and try, try, try, REMEMBER, nothing beats a FAILURE but a try!CAUSE IT AINT ALL ABAOUT YOU !!!!! Utopia, defined as an imaginary island with a perfect political and social system where everybody gets along "that's my definition" Sir Thomas defines it as idealistic place of perfection, a visionary scheme (which is inclusive of having a form of GOD conscientiousness). GOD, being defines as LOVE. A perfect society. Distopia, no provision, no vision, there are distinct definitions, as po po po. Then the poor and the have-nots trying to get just little something! The greedy ones and the affluent metropolis ones with allll the money and they are fighting because the affluent one have sent the greedy ones to go after the po po ones. Now THIS is Dystoopia!. Now that I have all the definitions out of the way, here is what I have to say. No place I say that there is somewhere in the atmosphere, hemisphere, the cosmics it is matter composed. Centrally within the nucleus working together. Unity, w/o separation all united, PEACE! HARMONY! UNITARILY, working collectively. Being conscious, alert, aware so there are no social injustices. No lack, barter and trade, change, exchange. Make a difference to make an improvement to enhance one's life. Exchange thought views, ideas. Sharing is caring, being conscious that I am you, you are me, we are one in unity, peaceably in the FREE!. How we gonna do that? Okay! here we go...Not allowed to exchange pain for pain and most of all no greed to gain, no game-sayer, no gimme, gimme, gimme cause I gotta gain, cause I don't want to feel this inner pain. No vanity, emptiness, no strain ummm, ummm, don't try to give my your pain, don't try to hurt me so you can gain. Now here is what we do to take this journey and to GOD, LIFE LOVE to thy own self be true. Hurt people, hurt people that's what they do, yes that's sooooo true!  |

Every morning before I start the day I walk down the sand towards the big, wide open ocean. I check if the water isn't too cold and I jump and swim straight into the ocean, far away from the city and the beach. I go further away until I see water to the left, water to the right, water before me and water behind me. Then I dive deeper and deeper, I meet the? and I swim along with them. I don't need oxygen anymore. I can swim like a fish. There's water all over me and it feels so good. And then suddenly I feel the? coming over the surface, a little? of light that calls me back. I swim to the surface and I go to work. |

For me it took me to the year 1985. It was the most beautiful year of my life. I was a well known reggae musician very much in demand. I was living in a communal living situation in a very strong and vibrant Rasta community. I had a very beautiful, intelligent woman by my side and it was the year my son was born. I was playing with a band and we had just released our first album. I was on top of the world, so to speak. I lived in a converted storefront across from Manuel High School High School. The entire block on Vermont St. side was filled with like-minded people. There was a man who made jewelry, woman who taught African dance, and a vegetarian restaurant in back of the building. There was a field of banana trees and other fruit trees. We dug out an area in the middle of all this; a circle in the center was a hut and an area where we cooked. When I lived there my wife and I used to spend the night there sometimes in the summer. There were so many plants you'd sometimes forget you were in the city. |

Utopia, a Moment of Joy Flying like a plane, I developed wings Robbers carting way belongings, the Trip down America has just begun. I could remember, the flavor- al maish- the Egyptian liquor. The taste as Cassia flowers herb soak in wine. Then I flew, I could remember, the instructions:
Fasten seat belt, the taking off is ready.
My Heart leaped, cracked: then, the balance, the trip continues.
O! my legend, my Utopia, you harbor my pleasure: Joy, and happiness, The moment of sadness is gone, The ranting of the plane, a solace, and a symbol of hope. The pains a long forgotten episode. Now, in Los Angeles hopes revived. The exercise to strengthen ribs and body Is Henriette yoga: to ease tension, and Perhaps unify the body and soul, all to Create a balance in nature, so I think. Thereafter, I could remember the deep long Atlantic Ocean Myself, the plane flying at 37,000 feet about the sea level. The cloud so friendly, the plane so cold. Then the hot coffee that followed and the music were lost hope revived And amen, my prayer is heard. Life folks is worth living after an experience of exposure. I am a symbol of hope. I am life. |
